The idea
My inspiration comes from futurism, organic forms and working intuitively. I prefer not to determine everything in advance, but to let the form emerge as I work. The body refers to the human figure, yet also feels abstract and otherworldly. I am drawn to simplicity and monochrome colours because they direct attention to form, line and structure. With plastic, emptiness and shape, I wanted to create a piece that feels both vulnerable and powerful.

Trace of a body
The encouragement award goes to a work that stands out for its concept, presentation and contemporary use of materials. The technique requires a level of skill and refinement that not everyone possesses, but which this artist clearly masters. Its surprising presentation makes the work distinctive among the submissions.
It is a work full of contradictions: a hard material that appears fragile; armour that should offer protection while allowing skin to remain visible through the openings; and the absence of a body whose presence can still be clearly felt. The work is vulnerable and powerful at the same time.
The work feels not only futuristic, but also contemporary: truly a work of our time. The jury is curious to see how Lola Aleida Pansier will continue to develop as an artist and hopes to see more of her work in Oss. — Oog van Oss jury
