Toiletpaper Magazine
Nothing Left to Hide.
Concept · Styling · Make-up · Shoot preparationThe idea
For this project I created a five-image fashion campaign inspired by the bold and unconventional style of TOILETPAPER Magazine. The images had to form a cohesive series while drawing attention to a social issue. One image also had to become a billboard campaign with a memorable line.
I chose the loss of privacy, particularly through social media and the digital world, as my subject. I called the concept Nothing Left to Hide. The key element in my styling was transparent latex, used like a second skin. It appears to offer protection, yet it is possible to see straight through it. I wanted this to express vulnerability and the feeling of being constantly visible.
Visually, I chose a bright, graphic and retro style that fits TOILETPAPER. I combined pink and red tones, expressive make-up, latex and unusual materials. As a contrast I photographed at the Noordkade in Veghel, where the raw industrial setting makes the styling and colours stand out even more.
I developed the styling, make-up, design proposals, shoot cards and complete preparation myself. For the billboard I selected an image from a striking angle in which the model looks directly at the viewer. Together with the words Nothing Left to Hide, I wanted to spark curiosity and make people consider how much of ourselves remains private today.
The essence
Transparent latex seems to protect, yet reveals everything.

My role
From styling and make-up to shoot cards and final image: I created the whole.
