Rope Body

For this project I wanted to experiment with a material and technique I had never used before: textile hardener. I began by placing the rope piece by piece in the desired shape, securing it with tape as I worked. I then applied the hardener section by section, allowing the rope to retain its form.

This way of working took some getting used to. The material behaved differently from the more flexible materials I normally use, which made the process both interesting and instructive. As I worked, I gradually learned how to guide the material and discovered what the technique could do.

I enjoyed experimenting with material and form in this way. The result made me enthusiastic about the technique, and I would definitely like to use textile hardener again in a future project.
